The busy winter schedule came to an end after the last of 6 teams from our South African Network came to engage with our network in Mozambique. These teams come to assist and equip communities with projects and programmes MOZaic is involved in. The week long event is pre-planned and well organised to make the biggest possible impact in such a short period.
More than 100 people from our SA network visited 7 communities where MOZaic operates. This last week a team from Mosaiek Gemeente came to Manjacaze to explore future opportunities and assisted with nutrition training, income generating projects, children’s ministry and infrastructure development.
Mozaic is currently helping 3 communities and church leaders with income generating projects in the form of Jam production, Cashew production,2 sewing projects and a shop. We are also exploring a great opportunity to produce essential oils in the rural parts of Gaza to be experoted to europe. We assist local leaders generate an income. This creates sustainability of church plants and creates oppertunity for more church planting.
Our South African network is very much involved in all aspects of the work and the more we network the more the opportunities. We appreciate expertise from the SA network, but our South African network also is a great market to sell Jam and cashews to. This year we trained 20 church leaders in business skills and now we are raising funds to provide loans for rural businesses. We still need R30 000 for loans for 2 cashew projects and 2 shops. Next year we hope to start 5 more income generating projects.
Thank you all who are part of this ministry, you make this all happen.
Blessings,
Gerhard Erasmus
